Belgrad players beat Dynamo Moscow in a penalty shootout at RZD Arena.
Final match at UTLC Cup was between U-14 Dynamo Moscow and Crvena Zvezda Serbia.
The teams studied each other well. The coaches watched previous games and told their players how to stop opponent’s leaders. As a result, both teams played well defensively to finish the game without scoring a single goal.As it stands in youth tournament, opponents went straight to penalty shootout without struggling at extra-time. Mateja Stankovic gifted his team the victory with 2 great penalty saves. He stopped first 2 Dynamo shots and the shootout score was 4:2.
“That’s fantastic and very useful tournament for our team, – told us Crvena Zvezda head coach Marco Petrovic. – it will become a great motivation for future careers of our boys. They saw that hard work pays off and what they can play at big stadiums like RZD Arena, if they become professionals”.
Before the main match of the cup fans saw the Skills Show. UTLC Cup Team played against media football stars and former Lokomotiv Moscow legends. Shots from corner, penalty spot and even from the tribunes. Exciting show as it always happens at All Star Game.
UTLC ERA CEO Aleksey Grom summarised the cup results:
“Boys were so motivated that you could see their willing in their eyes. Many players had the first big international tournament so that made an impression on them. It’s great to see such kind of emotions, just look at Serbian footballers!”
UTLC Cup 2022 final day started with the breathtaking 3 place match between Astana and Lokomotiv Moscow. The game was so dramatic that you can rarely see it in the professional football.
In the middle of the second half the tournament’s best striker Aslanbek Marat ran away from Loko defender and found the corner the goal as an adult experienced forward.
The corner just 30 seconds before the final whistle somehow led to the penalty in Loko favour. Astana defender saved his goal with the hand like Luis Suarez against Ghana in the Word Cup 2010 quarterfinals! Red card and a penalty as a result.
Loko striker shot right in the corner, but Astana goalie jumped there to saved the 3 place for his team. Final whistle, 1:0 and Astana celebrated the bronze medals.
